Anatomy of Online Advertising: Understanding the Privacy Debate

March 30, 2009, 8:00 - 9:30 AM
U.S. Capitol Building, Capitol Visitors Center Meeting Room South

Overview | Audio

During this briefing experts in the field of privacy and online advertising will 'peel back' how online advertising works and will provide a transparent overview of the technical aspects of how data is collected, used, stored and leveraged to provide advertising online to consumers. The purpose of the briefing is to provide an unbiased foundation for understanding the various privacy issues that Congress will debate in the context of online advertising. While the format of the presentation will be fast paced we will leave ample room to answer congressional staff questions about the mechanics of online advertising as it relates to privacy.
