Given the constantly evolving nature of cyber threats, the Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee hosted a broad educational briefing to provide a Cyber Security Threat Assessment. The threat assessment was designed to show the nature of the cyber security threat; how it has matured, how the capabilities of attackers have evolved, what our vulnerabilities are and how cyber attacks are organized. The Threat Assessment covered a broad array of sectors and break down the nuances in threats to each sector.
The panel briefing featured government officials and experts on the front lines of cyber security issues. The panelists covered threats to corporations, critical infrastructure, consumers, and the federal government. Panelists also addressed issues related to attacks of a civil, criminal, and national security nature. Furthermore, the panel addressed linkages between cyber attacks and organized crime, terrorism and fraudsters.

Additionally, the discussion was supplemented with a compilation of one-pager issue briefs from members of the Internet Caucus Advisory Committee. The handouts were distributed at the briefing and available for download via the ICAC Web site.
This educational briefing is hosted by the Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee (ICAC), part of a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization. The ICAC is a private sector organization comprised of public interest groups, trade associations, non-profits, and corporations.
