S. Derek Turner
S. Derek Turner oversees research and analysis projects for Free Press, focusing on the implications of media policymaking decisions on media reform goals. Before becoming research director, Derek was a research fellow on our staff and authored articles in publications such as Business Week and Salon.com. Derek holds a master's degree in public policy from the Goldman School at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was awarded the 2006 Smolensky prize for Outstanding Advanced Policy Analysis.
